it’s still hard to believe I’m not in
Pittsburgh anymore! My two daughters were 6 and 7 when we piled
in the car drove out here. I will never forget seeing my mom and
sister in the rear-view mirror as we drove off... and of being sad,
afraid, and excited all at the same time. The North Side of
Pittsburgh, where I was born and raised, will always have a special
place in my heart. My parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephew, and all my cousins are still there.
When we first moved here in 1977, the 7/11 on the corner of Nellis and
Charleston had a hitching post in front of it. In the evening
after supper, the girls would ride their horses down Charleston with
their friends and get a Slurpee! Boy, we have really seen
growth. We have been lucky over the past 30 years, to be the part
of the most rapidly growing city in the country. Our girls are
all grown up now, and have blessed us with 3 PERFECT
grandchildren. They know and love all of their Pittsburgh family,
and they have been raised learning the importance of extended family
and watching the Steelers play the great game of football.
In 1981 I married Bob, the best guy in the world. We met while
working at the Flamingo Hilton. He was a tenor saxaphone player
ready to give up 18 years on the road, and I was working 2 jobs raising
my girls. We had a rough time back then, but Las Vegas rewards
those who work hard, and our story of success is one of thousands
here. I guess there is a natural progression from music to
computers. My husband wrote this site in 1996...way back when
nobody knew what a dot com was! Vegaslistings.com has been good
to us. I’m amazed by how many people have contacted The Brooks Team by
way of this site. Thanks, Bob!
If you have found your way here because you are looking to buy or sell
property, or would just like some info on what's happening in the Las
Vegas market, just give me a holler, and I'll help you any way I can.
I'm not slick or fancy, but I work hard, and I'm as loyal as the family
pooch. The first deal I ever closed in real estate was a home that was
listed on Super Bowl Sunday. The house was priced below market value,
and it was only on the market for 11 hours. If I had waited to watch
the game, my client would have lost it. Now that's
dedication. I love football, and as you must know by now, I am a
huge Steelers fan.
In addition to residential real estate, I also handle business
opportunities and investment property. Before I got into this crazy
business, I owned a small business for 28 years, so I have a kind of
perspective about business that most real estate agents don't. So...if
you are thinking about making Las Vegas your home GO FOR IT!! We have a
great team of dedicated agents to help you. And don't
forget to ask Michelle for any mortgage or re-financing questions
(she's also our daughter, isn't she cute?).
